ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 13, 2010 – Juliana Terian Gilbert, Chairman of the Rallye Auto Group, including Rallye BMW, in Westbury, N.Y., was named the TIME Magazine Dealer of the Year from Greater New York.
Gilbert was chosen to represent the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association in the national competition. The award is sponsored by TIME Magazine in association with Goodyear, and in cooperation with NADA.
“We all work very hard and maintain a singular focus at The Rallye Group trying to excel in our business,” says Gilbert, “and it deepens the significance of that hard work when we can add another dimension to it and broaden our impact on those around us.”
After graduating from Granada Hills (CA) High School in 1973, Gilbert embarked on a successful career as a Ford fashion model while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona. She earned a postgraduate degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, in 1990, then founded Curran Architects and Planners, a firm specializing in commercial, medical and residential interiors.
Gilbert’s tenure at the Rallye Group began in 2002 following the death of her husband, Peter Terian, the dealership founder, after which she became the group’s President and CEO. Based in Roslyn, NY, The Rallye Group includes Rallye BMW, Rallye Mercedes, Rallye Lexus, Rallye Acura and Smart.
