Registration for ATD Convention Now Open with 'Early Bird' Special
McLEAN, Va. (July 23, 2012) – Online registration for the American Truck Dealers (ATD) Convention and Expo, including hotel reservations, opens today. All attendees who register by October 5 will receive a $150 discount off the onsite registration rate.
The 50th annual ATD convention, which will be held in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center from Feb. 8-11, 2013, will once again run concurrently with the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Expo.
“Orlando is hosting several events next February, so hotel rooms will fill up quickly,” said ATD Convention Chairman Joe Jenkins. “We’re encouraging attendees to register early and book the hotels of their choice.”
The lineup of keynote speakers for the ATD convention include Bob Costello, chief economist and vice president of the American Trucking Associations; Dennis Snow, a former Walt Disney World consultant, who now trains executives how to improve customer service, develop employees and establish leadership goals; and ATD Chairman Richard Witcher.
Dealers will also have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with their manufacturer executives at 12 franchise meetings and with 80 exhibitors in the ATD Zone on the expo floor.
NADA-ATD University will be offering nine workshop topics (16 total workshop sessions) for truck dealers and their managers to learn and implement ways to improve their business operations.
ATD attendees can also attend any of the NADA workshops and general sessions, which include industry keynote speaker John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America; inspirational keynote speaker Mark Kelly, former NASA astronaut, space shuttle commander of Endeavour’s final mission and husband of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords; NADA Chairman Bill Underriner; and incoming NADA Chairman David Westcott.

The NADA Story
The NADA story began in 1917 when 30 auto dealers traveled to the nation’s capital to convince Congress not to impose a luxury tax on the automobile. They successfully argued that the automobile is a necessity of American life, not a luxury. From that experience was born the National Automobile Dealers Association. Today, NADA represents nearly 16,000 new-car and -truck dealerships with 32,500 franchises, both domestic and international. For more information, visit www.nada.org.
